MUNICIPAL BATHS PRAISED

COMPLIMENTS OF VISITORS GOOD STAFF AND " FAST " WATER Complimentary remarks in regard to the staff of the Dunedin municipal baths and in regard to the water have been made by officials and competitors at the New Zealand swimming championships. Cr Hayward staled at the meeting of the City Council last night that it had been said by visitors that the manner in which the staff of the baths had carried out their duties had been an important factor in the success of the tournament. Swimmers from the north had said that the water was very “fast/ this having been borne out by the way in which ten records had been broken. It was very gratifying to the council to know that what was being done at the baths was so much appreciated. No doubt the present tournament would give swimming a fillip here, and make the baths more popular.
