The minesweeper Caterham, escorted by destroyers, conveyed the Union Jack-covered coffin, on which rested the Admiral’s cocked hat and sword, from Portsmouth, where the streets wore lined with mourners, including Sir Inn Hamilton and Admiral De Rebeck’s veterans. Admiral Sir Arthur Leveson represented the King. All branches of the service were present.
