VISIT TO AMERICA ROUND OF ENGAGEMENTS. Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright. WASHINGTON, January 23. Mr Cosgrave (President of the Irish Free State) has arrived from Chicago, and has begun a list of engagements that will probably make him the most entertained overseas visitor in recent years. Commenting on Chicago, he said: “I found that Mr Thompson has been greatly libelled. Ho is a fine, genial, big American.” Mr Cosgrave visited President Coolidge, and lunches with him to-morrow. The Canadian Minister (Mr V. Massey), the Irish Minister (Mr T. A. Smiddy), the British Ambassador (Sir Esme Howard), the Secretary of State (Mr F. B. Kellogg), and other officials are entertaining in his honor. Ho will proceed to Philadelphia, then to Ottawa later in the week, returning to Ireland on February 3.
