SAlLED.—January 24. Orcti, s.s. (12.45 p.m.), 174 tons, M'Kenzic, for Invercargill and Fort CTaig. Canopus, s.s. (3.15 p.m.), 1,337 tons, Sellars, for Westport. January 25. Canadian Prospector, s.s. (9.20 a.m.), 5,492 tons, A. Thomas, for Wellington. The Canadian Prospector left this morning for Wellington, Napier, 'and Auckland to complete loading for New York, Boston, and Halifax. She is to leave Auckland finally on February 3. The Canopus, after annual overhaul, left Eort Chalmers yesterday for Westport to load for Auckland. The trawler Teratahi arrived at Port Chalmers yesterday afternoon from Bluff, She is to go into dry dock for cleaning and painting, ■ Formerly one of the Norwegian Star whalers, the trawler has been purchased by Bluff owners who intend to use her for oyster and other fishing purposes.

The Union Company’s cargo vessel Waikouaiti arrived this morning from Newcastle and Sydney via Bluff to put out general freight. The vessel is to sail early on Friday morning for Lyttelton and Timaru to complete discharge. The Kurow has been delayed at Bluff owing to heavy rain. She is to leave there to-morrow for Dunedin, where she is due on Friday to load general cargo and sail the same day for Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland. The Opihi left Westport at 1 o’clock this morning for Dunedin direct, and after discharge of her coal cargo here sir; will load for Westport via Timaru. The Corinna is to leave Wellington on Friday for Dunedin direct. She is to load here on Monday for Nelson and New Plymouth via ports. The Calm arrived this morning from Bluff, and is to load and sail to-morrow for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Picton, and Wanganui. The Breeze is due on Sunday from Lyttelton. The vessel is to sail the following day for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Wanganui, It is expected that the Port Caroline, from Bluff, will be at Port Chalmers on Friday to commence Homeward loading. The Port Hunter, which sailed from Loudon on January 7 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin, is due at Auckland on February 16. The Vacuum Oil Company’s tanker Pulpit Point arrived at Auckland yesterday morning with a cargo of oil fuel from San Francisco. The vessel will later go to Wellington and Melbourne to complete discharge. The New Zealand Government steamer Maui Pomare should be at present loading on the West Coast of England for Auckland. It is expected that the vessel will arrive at Auckland about the middle of March. The Colonial ; Sugar Company’s steamer Bona,.which arrived at Auckland last Thursday with a cargo of sugar from Suva, is to leave the northern port to-night for Sydney to unload molasses. Early yesterday morning the Hororata, sailed from Auckland for New York, Halifax, and London via Panama. The Waipahi was to leave Sydney yesterday for Fiji, and clears Siiva for Auckland with a fruit cargo on Feb : ruary 3. THE FERRY SERVICE. The Maori, from Wellington, arrived at Lyttelton at 6.45 a.m. to-day, and passengers and mails connected with the first express. TRANSPACIFIC CARGO SERVICE. The following are the movements of the Union Company’s vessels engaged in the transpacific cargo service; — Waikawa, from Westport, arrived at Vancouver on the 15th inst., and loads at Ocean Falls and Union Bay. She is expected to leave Vancouver to-day for San Francisco, thence Los Angeles to complete loading for Papeete, Napier, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Bluff, and New Plymouth. Waitemata, from Sydney via Suva, is due at Vancouver on the 23rd inst.; proceeds thence to San Francisco and Los Angeles. Wairuna, from Pacific Coast via Auckland and Wellington, arrived at Melbourne on Saturday; proceeds thence to Beauty Point (Tasmania) and Sydney; due at Beauty Point about the 25th inst. Hauraki, from Vancouver and other British Columbia ports, is due dt Sau Francisco on the 23rd inst.'_ to cpm,plete loading for Auckland, Wellington, Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide; clears San Francisco about January 27. Waiotapu left Los Angeles on the 3rd inst. for Auckland, 'Wellington, Melbourne, and Sydney; due at Auckland on the 28th inst. Waihemo left Wellington on Saturday for Westport and Auckland; proceeds thence to Vancouver direct on the 28th inst. The forward loading dates at the Pacific Coast are approximately as follow : • Wairuna loads at Vancouver and San Francisco, and Los Angeles late in January and in early February for Apia, Auckland, Wellington, Melbourne, and Sydney. Waihemo loads at Vancouver and San Francisco at the end of February and early in March for Auckland, Melbourne, and Sydney. Wairuna loads at Vancouver and San Fiaucisco during March for Auckland, Wellington, Melbourne, and Sydney. KXUDSEN LEAVES SAN LUIS Cabled news has been received that the tanker O. A. Knudsen left San Luis at 9 p.m. Inst Thursday for Wellington. Messrs H. L. Tapley and Co. advise .that the Canadian Challenger, from Halifax, is expected at Auckland on February 8. The vessel is bringing cargo for Auckland,' Wellington, Bluff, Dunedin. MIN FROM NEW YORK. Under charter to the A. and A. Line, the Main Steam Shipping Company’s steamer Min arrived this morning from N.ew York via Panama and northern ports to complete discharge of her American cargo. The vessel sailed from the American port dn December 4, and proceeded to Norfolk for bunkers. She arrived at Colon on December 12, and alter transit through the canal was granted, cleared Balboa the nest morning. She experienced fair weather for the whole of the voyage, and arrived at Auckland well up to time. The Min, which was built by John Reading and Company, of South Shields, m 1922, is registered as 4,694 tons gross. She is on her first trip to New Zealand. Captain F. Cundy is in command of the Min, and associated with are the following officers: —Chief, Mr E. J. Davies; second, Mr C. D. Leaner; third, Mr R. M. Spray; chief engineer, Mr J. Lander; second, Mr. G. A. Nancarrow; third, Mr F. S. Rcadshaw; fourth, Mr A. J. Carney; wireless operator, Mr S. E. Morrish; chicl steward, Mr H. Lea.
