RACING OFFICIAL FAREWELLED A very pleasant, function recently took place when a prominent racing official was fnrewelled prior to leaving the country. In the course of the evening, when the air was blue with smoke, he rose to make reply; “Gentlemen,” he said, “I see around me to-night many happy faces. I hope it’s not because I’m going away.” No!
