LAWYER’S HEAD AREA
ENLARGING THE DOMAIN A new piece of land, including Lawyear’s Head, has been placed under the jurisdiction of the Ocean Beach Domain Board, and it is probable that in the future it will he as greatly improved for the benefit of frequenters of the seaside as have other parts of the seafront The Secretary of the Ocean Beach Domain Board has been notified that under section .35 of the Reserves and Other Lands Disposal Act, 1927,_ section 21, block VII., Otago Provincial Survey District, containing twenty-fivo acres, has now been vested in the Domain Board, subject to the provisions of ike Ocean Beach Domain Act. The new area comprises the whole, of the Lawyer’s Head bluff, running down on the Tomahawk side to the outlet of the Tomahawk Stream as it passes across Tomahawk beach to the ocean. The boundary of the domain hitherto stopped at the foot of Lawyer’s Head and the hoard for a long time considered it very desirable to extend its boundary to include the whole of the Lawyer's Head area. Up to the present the area was Crown land, and was really under the control of no governing local authority. The hoard is now in a position to control the area and improve it.
