DUNEDIN STOCK EXCHANGE. The Stock -Exchange- opened quietly for the new year locally, not a great deal of business being transacted on 'Change. Transactions have taken place off ’Change at slightly enhanced prices in comparison with those ruling at the close of last year. Bank of New South Wales sold as high as £46 2s 6d, buyers offering £45 17s 6d, with no sellers. Bank of New Zealand were as high as 59s 4d, the quotations this morning being buyers 595, sellers 59s 6d, Commercial Banks showed no change. The sales were as high as 29s 9cl. National Bank of New Zealand shares were easier, buyers offering £6 14s, with no sellers. Buyers offered £l7 Is tor the National Bank of Australasia, with no selling quotations. For contributing issues buyers offered £3 9s. Union Bank of Australia improved to buyers £l4 11s 6d, wdth no selling quotations. National Insurances were inclined (o bo easier, buyers offering 15s 3d, sellers 15s 9d. New Zealand Insurances advanced to buyers at 41s, with sellers 9d away. Huddart, Parker'buyers offered 495, with no sellers. At the end of last year buyers were 47s 6d, sellers 48s 3d. Buyers of Huddart, Parker preference advanced to 21s, with no sellers. P. and 0. new stock is selling at £33 premium, no buyers quoting. Westport Coal Company buyers were at 31s 6d, with the lowest seller at 32s 6d. Dalgcty and Co. prices were inclined to harden, buyers offering 13s 4d, sellers 13s 6d. National Mortgage buyers olfcred 71s 6d, with no sellers under 755. Now Zealand Refrigerating shares advanced during the week to buyers at 17s 6d, sellers at 18s. For the contributing issue buyers offered 8s lOd, sellers 8s Id. This company is paying a 7J- per cent, dividend for the year. Last year no dividend was declared. Milburn Lime and Cement shares were steady, with buyers round obout 32s 4d. For the new issue 8s 4d was offered, with no apparent sellers. Now Zealand Drug buyers were offering 68s 6d, with no selling quotations. Wilson's (N.Z.) Cement bad a reported sain of 38s, wilh buyers prepared (o give 37s 6d for further parcels and no selers under 39s 6(1. New Zealand Brewery Debentures had a reported sale of 23s 3d, buyers offering 23s for further parcels and no sellers under 25s 4d. Upper Nevis prices improved to buyers 235, sellers 275, as against 21s and 25s at the end of last year. This dredge is now working three shifts, and, according to all reports, is a very solid structure and is working well. There have not been many quotations during the week for Government loans, with no sellers disclosed for any of the issues.
