NEW ZEALAND TOURNEY RINKS CHAMPIONSHIP SEVENTH ROUND. (Si'scim- to the ‘Star.’] CHRISTCHURCH, January 14. Three rounds of the rinks competition which conclude tho sectional play are being contested to-day. Light rain fell during tho night, and it had made the greens considerably slower, but all were playable at 9 a.m. except New Brighton, where a resumption of play could not he made until an hour later. J. Kruse (Hastings), who won all his games on Thursday, lost two yesterday. T. Edwards (Temuka) had two losses on Thursday, but won all ids games yesterday. H. Clarke (Carlton) won two and lost, one yesterday. J. Hahi (Invercargill) lost all Ids games yesterday. . W. Foster (Caledonian) * had one win and two losses yesterday. H. li. Oakcy (St. Albans) Las hud "three wins. Yesterday he won one game only. APKittrick’s rink from St. Clair lias won only two games. Timuru (J. Moves) kept up an unbeaten record this morning by defeating North End, Invercargill (J. Hain), by 24 to 18. The latter led by 14 to 7 on the twelfth head, but thereafter lost ground, Timaru holding the lead by 18 to 10 on the seventeenth head. North End drew level on tho next, but thereafter did not score, Timaru winning by 0 points. By scoring a single m the last head Dunedin (J. Hutchison) just .snatched victorv from Victoria, Wellington (D. APLeod), Tho score was even on the eleventh, 8 all. Then APLeod established a substantial lead, and Dunedin were 8 down on the sixteenth, finishing well. Hutchison equalised on the twentieth, and won by 18 to 17.
