UORPORATION NOTICES. DUNEDIN CITY COUNCIL. NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF SPECIAL ORDER AUTHORISING RAISING OP SPECLIL LOAN OP £40,000 PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Duncdiu City Council, at a special meeting convened for the purpose and held on Wednesday, the 14th day of December, 1927 passed the following resolution (by way of special order) authorising the raising of a Special Loan of £40,000 to repay maturing loans The said resolution is as follows: That it be and is hereby resolved by the Dunedin City Council so that this resolution may be confirmed at a subsequent meeting of tbo Council and operate as a Spec!;,. Ordei as ‘ollows; 1, That, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, tho said Council doth raise a Special Loan of Forty Thousand Bounds (£40,000) for the purpose of paying off the following special loans that are a • out to fall due —that is to say; (a) Roslyn waterworks loan balance outstanding of £13,800 (b) Morningtou tramway loan of 40,000 Total of £53,800 Towards tho repayment of which sum there are sinking funds and other monevs amounting to £13,800 2. That the ecurity for tho interest and sinking fund and repayment of the said Special Loan of £40,000 bo a special annually recurring rate of One Penny (Id) in tho Pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of tho annual value) of all rateable properly of the City of Dunedin, comprising tho whole of the said City. 3. That the term of tho said Special Loan he fifteen (15) years from the Ist day of February, 1928. 4. That a sinking fund of Two Pounds (£2) pei centum per annum on the amount of the said loan be established in connection with the same, and that the amount of such sinking fund he paid to the Sinking Fund Commissioners to be appointed for that, purpose on 'ho Ist day of February in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of fifteen years from the Ist day of February, 1928, or until the loan is fully paid off, of which sinking fund the first payment shall be made on the Ist day of February, 1929. 5. That tho said Special Loan be raised by tho issue of debentures under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and that each such debenture shall bear interest at the rate of five and one-half per centum (5j per cent.) per annum, payable halfyearly on the Ist day of August and the Ist day of February in each and every year during tin currency of such loan or until such loan is fully paid off; and that coupons bo affixed to each such debenture accordingly, and that the said debentures and coupons bo payable at tho Bank of New Zealand, Dunedin, provided that tho holder of any such debenture may at his option eelct to have payment of the relative coupons made at any branch of tho Bank of New Zealand within tho Dominion of New Zealand free of exchange to the holder thereof. 6. That tho corporate seal bo affixed to all such debentures, and that such debentures and coupons be signed by the Mayor and countersigned by tho City Treasurer, but so tha their respective signatures to tho coupons may be lithographed thereon.
