RATTRAY STREET TERMINUS.
TO THE EOTTOE. Sir,—l am prompted to write to your paper by an incident which I witnessed to-day, which happily had no fatal termination, but might have been very serious. 1 happened to be coming into Rattray street just as the Eoslyn car was pulling up at its present city terminus. Just as it was pulling up a motor van passed it at a slow pace, but, as people are wont to do, a . passenger alighted from the tram before it had stopped and stopped right in front of the van, whose driver one must commend for the manner in which he avoided a very serious accident. Is it not time for something to be done in reference to the present terminus of tho Roslyn car ? The terminus at present is situated at one of the busiest and most crowded spots in the whole of the city, and it is only a matter of time before a serious and fatal accident will occur. It is tempting Providence to have it where it is. The place for the terminus is at tho foot of the hill, opposite the entrance to Maclaggan street, and I beg to suggest to the “City Fathers” that they take heed before "it is too late. I am, etc., A Stitch In Time Saves Nine. January 13. AVIATION’S COST. 10 THE EDITOR. Sir,—l would commend to your readers, our Prime Minister, and the New Zealand Press your most excellent article in last evening’s issue, entitled ‘ Aviation’s Cost.’ I am confident that the lessons of disaster in aviation do outweigh the rewards of success. It is to be hoped that Mr Coates will commend our brave men, Hood and Moncrieff, rather than criticise their omissions.—l am, etc., Ex R.A.F. Pilot. January 14.
