The first meeting for the new year of Court Pride of the Leith, A.0.F., was held on Wednesday last, with a good attendance of members. One new member was admitted. Every member present related his experiences during the holidays, and these proved both amusing and entertaining, and were much appreciated. Arrangements were completed for the address on ‘ Robert Burns,’ which will be given next meeting by P.D.C.R. Bro. W. R. Brugh. ! Following the close of the ordinary meeting the second animal meeting of the Pride of the Leith Foresters’ Hall Society was held, the president (Bro. J. Abbott) being in the chair. In presenting the annual report, the president i congratulated members on the successful year, and thanked all for their assistance, which would enable the paying of a large'instalment off the nail mortgage. The following members were re-elected as the committeeßros. J. Abbott, W. B. Anderson, A. E. Brown, J. Hope, S. M. Mnnro, T. F. M'Natty, J. K. Macfie, R. H. Rutherford, R. S. Vercoe, and H. C. Williamson. Bro. W. J. Duncan was re-elected as auditor. It is anticipated that several much-needed alterations to the hall will he carried out shortly. A young woman, newly engaged, took her future husband to be “inspected” by a somewhat fearsome aunt, who bad the uncomfortable habit of invariably saying exactly what she thought. As the young couple were leaving the aunt said to her niece: “My dear, I’d rather have him for lunch than for life!”
