The Breeze sailed last night tor Wanganui via ports. The Corinna got away last night lor Nelson and New Plymouth via ports. The Katoa arrived this morning from Wellington. She will take in general cargo and sail to-night lor Wellington and Auckland. The Kaitangata is duo to-morrow night from Port Craig to discharge timber on Monday. She is to sail on Monday night for Wellington to complete unloading. The Waipiata is to be recommissioned at Port Chalmers on Friday, and is to load at Dunedin the same day for Auckland via ports. The Opihi is to he recommissioned at Port Chalmers on Thursday. She will take in cargo the same day at Dunedin for Nelson, New’ Plymouth, and Westport. The Kahika. which was recommissioned at Port Chalmers yesterday, came up to town in the afternoon to load general cargo for Napier and Gisborne via ports. She is to sail for the north to-night. The Kittawa was to sail this afternoon for Wellington and Westport. The Gale has been fixed, to load here on Monday for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Picton, and Wanganui. The steamer Anglo Colombian (8,407 tons) has been chartered to load wool and general cargo in New’ Zealand for Europe. Towards the middle of January the Colonial Sugar Company’s steamer Ilona is expected to reach Auckland with sugar from Fiji. Due at Gisborne on Monday from Launceston, the C. and D. Line motor ship Port Dunedin is to commence loading for London. She will later go to Napier, Lyttelton, and. Wellington to complete. The steamer Yoseric is to load jarrah at West Australian ports for New Zealand. . The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the lluahine is due at Auckland on Monday from Wellington to discharge the remainder of her London cargo. The vessel will afterwards proceed to Toknmaru Bay, Lyttelton, Timaru, and Wellington to load lor England. She is scheduled sail finally from Wellington on February 4 for Southampton and London via Panama.

THE FERRY SERVICE. The Waliine, from Wellington, arrived at Lyttelton at 6.45 a.m. to-day, and passengers and mails connected with the first express. WAIKOUAITI WITH CARGO. The Union Company advises that the Waikouaiti is to leave Newcastle about January 14 for Sydney to complete loading tor Bluff, Dunedin, Lyttelton, and Timaru, ARAWA REPORTED. Cabled news received by the Shaw, Savill Company states that the Arawa, en route from Liverpool to Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin, left Balboa last Sunday morning. The vessel is due at Auckland on January 22. THE CITY OF BATH. Messrs Turnbull, Martin, and Co. advise that the City of Batli loft New York on December 29, and Newport News on January 1 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Launceston, Bnrnie, Portland (Victoria), and Sydney. She is due ill Auckland on February 4 to commence discharging general cargo, and she should reach this port about February 16. SUSSEX FROM CALCUTTA. An expected arrival at Auckland next Monday is the Federal steamer Sussex, from Calcutta and way ports, with cargo for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Tiniaru, Dunedin, and Bluff under the agency of the Union Company.

CHILLICOTHE SOLD. The well-known American ship Chillicothe, originally the FJotow, has been sold to the Societe Hants Fourneaus, of Noumea, for use as a hulk. Her last voyage was a disastrous one of 114 days from Portland, Oregon, when the crew suffered terrible hardships on account of shortage of provisions. On arrival at Sydney she was sold and dismantled, and left there on December 20 for Noumea, in tow of the French steamer Saint Joseph. PERSONAL.' Captain A. H. Davey has resumed command of the Maunganui, in place of. Captain W. Martin, who is in Christchurch on holiday leave. Mr A. J. Bell has relieved Mr Robinson as second officer of the Hertford, which returned to Auckland from Liveppool on Tuesday. TAIROA TO LOAD, , The S.S. and A. steamer Tairoa arrived yesterday afternoon from Newcastle and Bluff, and berthed at Port Chalmers to load wool, butter,; and cheese for Home. The Tairoa left London on September 29 and steamed direct to Melbourne via tho Cape of Good Hope. After calling at various Australian ports she left Newcastle direct for Bluff. The voyage was uneventful, but Christmas Day was celebrated in a cyclone off the Australian coast. Captain D. Christie is in command, and has with him the following officers: —First, Mr P. F. Chowles; second, Mr J. Steele; third, Mr J. J. Finn; fourth, Mr J. J. Allen; cadets—W. J. Balfour, Alwyne, E. Warren; wireless operator, W. A. D. Howes; chief engineer, D. Isles-Robertson; second, J. Seymour; third, F. Charters; fourth, J. Crnn, dell; fifth, P. Turner; sixth, H. Robs; seventh, J. Doherty; first refrigerating engineer, J. Stevenson; second, J. Dnrward; chief steward, J. Russell.
