A.D. Bro. F. G. Smith presided over a fair number of members at tlio meeting of Mistletoe Lodge held on Tuesday. Tho Efficiency Shield judge (G.Scc. Bro. Steel) was in attendance to judge tho lodge on its work. Visitors present were Bro. Clark (Royal Oak), P.A. Bro. Logie (Royal Oak), P.A. Bro. Napier (Prido of Mornington), and Bro. M'Farhme (West Coast). Bro. Clark spoke on the efficiency competition and how lodges could improve on tho reports received from the judges. G.Bec. Bro. Steel gave a demonstration on preferential voting, which was very interesting to everyone present. The half-yearly meeting of Iloyal Oak Lodge was held in the lodge room, Cavcrsham, A.I). Bro. Page presiding over a largo attendance. D.P. Bro. Maybee was present officially. Tho following visitors were also present:— P.G.P. Bro. Jacobson, P.D.P Bros. Wilson and Whitty, P.A. Bros. Johns and Napier, and A.I). Bro. Bond. The sum of £3 3s was voted to tho appeal from tho Otago Lodge on behalf of a distressed brother The nomination and election of officers resulted:—A.D., Bro. T. Clark; V.A., Bro, Wilson; secretary, Bro, A. E.\Churchill (re-elected); treasurer, Bro. A. Mitchell (re-elected); 1.G., Bro. R. A. Churchill: 0.G., Bro. Tidey; A.D. Bards, Bros. J. Robertson ami W. Dickinson; V.A. Bards, Bros. If. Hunt and Duel); M.C., Bro. T. 11. Hudson; minute secretary, Bro. W. Hudson (re-olected); pianist, Bro. C. Wentworth; G.L. representatives, Bros. A. E. Churchill and H. Hunt. Bro. 11. Hunt was elected auditor in place of Bro. Routledgo, who has been transferred from the district.

Bay Lodge held its meeting in the Coronation Hall, St. ivilda, on Tuesday night, A.D. J3ro. A. Cormack presiding over a large attendance of members and visitors. Somewhat lengthy correspomlenco was dealt with, including a benevolent appeal trom Otago Lodge, to which a donation was voted. One candidate was initiated. The election of olHcers for the ensuing term resulted:—Arch Druid, Bro. P. Childs' Vivc-Areh, tiro. 111. W. Bartlett; secretary, Bro. 11. S. Cox (re-elected); treasurer, Bro. N. Weir; I. Guard, Bro. 11. Hall; 0. Guard. Bro. Kerr; A.D. Bards, Bros. H. Napier and Mildenhall; V.A. Bards, Bros. Baird and Day; M.C., Bro. W. B. Huston; Grand Lodge representative, Bro. W. B. Huston; substitute, Bro. G. Wilson. Bros. id. Napier and F. Johns were nominated for D. President. Sister Wilson, who has always taken a kindiv interest in tho welfare of Bay Lodge, donated a trophy to the brother who introduced the greatest number of candidates for initiation during the year. This trophy, which took the form of a handsomely framed picture, was presented to the winner. Secretary Bro. Cox. Tho presentation was made by Bro. Maybeo, D.P., and was highly appreciated by the fortunate winner. The brethren sprang u surprise! upon tilts worthy sister by making her a birthday gift to mark her passing of the second milestone beyond the allotted span.
