Subject to the approval of tho Minister, Dr W. J. Porteous was appointed, at last night’s meeting of tho Otago Hospital Board, acting assistant physician on tho visiting' medical staff, Dunedin Hospital, for tho period ending March 31, 1928 j in place of ,Dr Burns, who is on leave of absence. On tho recommendation of tho Hospital Committee the Hospital Board last night decided that the sum of £SO each be granted as a bonus to Dr C. E. Reid and Dr H. P. Gray, senior house surgeons, upon tho completion of their second year of service at the Dunedin Hospital. Tho medical superintendent having recommended that between the period of resignation of Dr Moller and the assumption of duty by Dr Taylor tho work of this officer bo divided between Dr Reid and Dr Gray, and subject to their carrying out tho duties until February they have been granted a further bonus of £lO each for such services.
Miss Rosevear, matron of tho Y.W.O.A. hostel, resumed duty to-day after spending her holiday leave in the North Island.
