SEEING THROUGH HUMAN BODY
FLESH TRANSPARENT AS GLASS BOON, TO SURGERY.. A French doctor named Andre Tours claims to have discovered a means oi making the human body transparent, so that all tjho organs can ho seen working as if through a mirror. He claims that his discovery will revolutionise surgery and medicine. Tremendous interest has been aroused throughout France, and Dr Tours has been invited to go to the United States. He has determined, however, to giro to the medical men of his own countn the first data about his discovery am, afterwards to make it public to tin, world. If the flesh can be made transparent so that the bones can bo clearly seen surgeons and osteopaths will be able to dispense with X-rays in locating internal troubles. When interviewed, Dr Tours said: “In future the human mechanism will be open to the doctor’s eye. An longer will ho have to diagnose a lino,-, blindly and consult with others. “ He will bo able to see the trouble at once. In surgery, as in consumption, in cancer, and all the diseases, lli .• transparency of flesh will be a i enormous boon to doctors. Dr Tours preferred not to talk abom the exact nature of his discovery. “ U is a secret at present,” he said, “hut soon I shall reveal it to the medical profession.” DETECTING MURDER. He added that Ins _ discovery would so aid justice in tracing the cause o. death where murder is suspected. “The presence of poison will be easily detected, and in the case of shooting the exact course of the bullet can be traced.” Many offers of big money have been made to Dr Tours, but ho has refused to accept any financial assistance am has indignantly declined to allow j company to be formed to capitalise h> discovery.
