The Gale is duo here on Wednesday from Lyttelton, and sails on Thursday for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Pieton, and Wanganui. The Holradale, which is undergoing survey at Port Chalmers, has been fixed to load at Dunedin on Tuesday for way ports and Wanganui. The Progress is duo at Dunedin on Monday from Wellington to load general cargo for Timaru, Lyttelton, New Plymouth, and Port Waikato. The C. A. Larsen will sail this evening or to-morrow morning from Port Chalmers for the whaling base at Stewart Island. The C. and D. liner Port Caroline is to sail from London on November 30 for Lyttelton direct. She is. due at the Canterbury port on January 9, and will proceed later to Port Chalmers and Bluff. . . Cargo discharged from the Maheno at Wellington this week included transhipments ex the Dortmund, City of Palermo, Burma Maru, Gambbhira, Naringa, Narkuuda, Malabar, Cathay, Koln, Largs Bay, Ormiston, Otranto, Canberra, and Bognina. The cargo also included a little fruit. The Waipori sailed to-day for Grcymouth and Westport. Kurow leaves Bluff on Monday evening for Dunedin, and loads out on Tuesday for Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland. Opihi leaves Lyttelton about Monday for Dunedin, and loads out on Wednesday for Nelson, New Plymouth, and Westport via ports. The Kahikaj which has been laid up at Napier owing to the bad weather, now loaves there on Monday for Lyttelton, Wellington, and Dunedin, She loads out on Friday next for Napier and Gisborne via ports, 11ECORD PASSENGER LIST. The White Star Liner Majestic has created another record. On her journey to New York at the end'of August she carried 2,580 passengers, the laigest number carried on one vessel, either eastbound or westbound, in the last four years. On the following trip, eastbound to Southampton, she made the voyage in 5 days, 9 hours, 18 min* ntes—an average of 24.21 knots. BRITISH STEAMER CYDONIA. The, British steamer Cydonia, 3,517 tons register, lias been fixed to load at Montreal for New Zealand jjorts, and is expected to sail about November 25, being due at Auckland about January 2. The Cydonia, which was built last year, belongs to the Stag Line of steamers, which is owned by Joseph Robinson and Sons, Shield, and will be the first of the company’# vessels to visit New Zealand. At the present time there are six steamers controlled by this line, ranging from 2,985 ions to 3,517. tons register, and carrying' about 5,500 tons deadweight. WAIKOUAITI FROM SYDNEY.' The Union Steam Ship Company advises that the Waikouaiti is expected \ to arrive at Bluff from Sydney on Mon- j day. She is expected here on Tuesday, thence to Lyttelton, Timaru, and Byd- , ney.
