DUNEDIN STOCK EXCHANGE. A healthier lone was evinced at this morning’s call of the local Stock Exchange, ami a sale was reported of Staples’ Breweries at 395. A fraction of the Unioii Bank of Australia shares were sold on 'Change at 9s, and, generally speaking, banking shares were firm, with a slight upward tendency. Buyers came on the market for nearly all tho shipping shares, and P. and 0. Deferred, Stock was wanted at £270. For Taupiri Coals there was a buyer at 23s 3d. A close margin was disclosed in New Zealand Refrigcratirg centribs.. the quotations being 7s 8d and 7s lOd for buyers and sellers respectively. 'The Milburn Lime and Cement new issue still continues to improve, buyers now offering 7s ('prom ). New Zealand Express Company shares were quoted ex dividend of Is. Both issues of Electrolytic Zincs were in demand, the preference at 31s, the deferred (ord.) at 29s 6d; there were no sellers in either case. Government stocks remain unaltered. The Government 1927 5 per cert. P.O. Loans mature on. November 13, and tho Treasury is inviting applications for their conversion into 51 per cent, loans, maturing on August 15, ■ Sale Reported.
