TE TAUMATA CLUB
An excellent entertainment was given in St. Peter’s Church Schoolroom, Cavershain, last evening, and as a result the Te Taumata Club should benefit considerably. The first part of the programme consisted chiefly of elocutionary items. Miss M. Service opened the entertainment with a pianoforte solo, which, like all the succeeding items, received loud applause. Humorous recitations were given hy Mr Carl Moller, Mr Lester Moller, Miss Madge Yates; while Major Lampcn told some mirthprovoking stories. The vocal numbers wore contributed hy Mises Greene and Buss.
The second half of the entertainment, which was made up by Miss Anita WinkcJ and her band of Twinklers, was as follows Opening chorus, ‘Twinkling the Bines Away,’ Miss Jda Lungley and Twinklers; musical monologue. ‘Our Village Bazaar,’ Miss Sheila Neilsou; song, ‘I Never Care.’ Miss N’aucyo Low and Twinklers; step dance, Miss Vida Mackenzie; song, ‘Japanese Proposal,’ Miss Dona Wood; song, ‘ Bouquet of Doses,’ Miss Anita Winkol and Twinklers; sketch, ‘ It May Da Life,’ Miss Anita Winkol; duet, ‘ The Two Dolls,’ Berta and Dona; Dutch finale, ‘Tulip Time,’ Miss Florence M'Leod and Twinklers.
