THE PERMANENT COMMISSION REPORT ON IRAQ. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright GENEVA, October 26. The Mandates Commission received a report on Iraq, in which it was stated that Turkey and Iraq have become sincere friends. The revenue exceeded the Estimates by over 8 per cent., and the people have shown surprising administrative capacity. Labor troubles are practically non-existent, and employment is plentiful, while wages arc good.
GERMANY GRANTED SIX VOTES. GENEVA, October 26. The plenary session granted Germany six votes, putting her on a parity with Britain, France, and the United Slates, and passed favorable resolutions on eight out of the proposed twenty-one articles of the convention. Only one article—namely, article B—was returned to the Convention Committee, when objections were raised by Mr Brown.
