STRIKE PROPOSAL REJECTED
MELBOURNE SEAMEN’S DECISION

MELBOURNE, October 26. (Received October 20, at J 1.5 a.m.) The seamen's meeting rejected the suggestion for a general strike. It was resolved that the shipowners should bo requested to withdraw the proposals for reductions in rates of pay and modification of working conditions.
