A statement dealing with the case, transmitted to the ‘Daily Express,’ affirmed that correspondence which fell into the hands of the secret police during a raid proved conclusively that espionage was being carried on. Edward Charnock, secretary to the British Mission in Moscow, was active in recruiting spies.
