Ripou has had an official hornblower for more than a thousand years. Taking up Ids position in the market square just before 9 o’clock each night, b' must send out a long, mournful blast on his horn before the sound of the last cathedral chime dies away. If an inhabitant can outblow the hornblower in a contest he gets the job.
