Jt is announced that the Ontario Provincial Legislature will have a balanced Budget for the lirst time in the last twenty years, with a prospect oi tax reductions amounting to 2,000,000 dollars. The province of Ontario, when under Prohibition, appeared to be saturated with illicit liquor from bootleggers and “ blind pigs.” The rate oi arrests in “dry” Ontario was formerly higher than that in tho neighboring “wot" Quebec. Now, with tho pro vince “ wet,” the legal sales are expected to run to about 30,000,000 dollars, compared with an estimated 35,000,000 under the former illicit bootlegging.
