REMARKABLE FUNERAL
SIXTKEX PALL-BEAUERS. A remarkable, funeral .took place a. few weeks ago at, Pandy, Monmouthshire, when the remains of Airs Kosher were interred in an oak coffin containing two shells, one of elm and the oilier of lead, and weighing no less than Bowt when empty. Sixteen men were required to carry die, coffin, which was conveyed to 1 lie cemetery on a. farm wagon, drawn by three horses. At, Mrs Rosher's house. Mr 'John Owen, a Welsh hard, sang hymns in Welsh, which had been composed by Mrs Kosher. There were no relatives at the funeral, but. a large number of villagers attended. Mrs Kosher, a wealthy woman, was a wellknown philanthropist. Arrangements for the funeral were dictated in Mrs Kosher’s will. Sho was the widow of Mr Edward Kosher, who died fifty-four years ago. When they were roarVied ho was sixty, and sho was sixteen.
