Bray Bros., Limited, report as' follows for week ended to-day;—Con-signments of chaff aro on the light side, but there' is very Jitfcle demand. Best quality is worth round about ho per ton, sacks extra, on trucks. Medium quality is slow of sale from £-‘3 to £4 per ton. A few enquiries have been received for shipment, but the local prices are on the high side, and the Canterbury ports are getting the business.. The oat market is quiet, very little business passing, and nominal values are round about Js od f.o.b. 101 A’s and 3s for B Cartons. The wheat market is keeping steady. Hunters and velvet varieties aro m demand. Any farmers’ lots of Tuscans are selling- at 6s on trucks .(sacks extia). Hunters aro worth 6s 4d, and up to 6s 9d for velvet has been paid. The fowl wheat market is firm, and best quality is selling round about 6s 6d per bushel. Dunedin* millers’ prices are as follows:—Flour, £l7 15s; pollard, £/ los; bran, £6 10s; oatmeal, £lB. The potato market is uncertain. Supplies are still coming forward from Canterbury, and best linos are selling round about £6 to £6 10s per ton. Very few potatoes are offering from the south, the market being supplied from Canterbury, and future prices depend on the quantity in pits, which is uncertain. The onion market is weak.' Canterbury onions are offering freely on the local market at 5s 6d to 6s per cwt. Holders in Canterbury are riot anxious to quit their stocks, which are showing signs.of growth. Business in the fruit markets has been quiet during the week. The market has been bare of most good lines of Australian fruits. Apples are meeting with a better demand, and everything points to the market firming , from now on. Lemons have been in short supply. Vegetables are meeting with a goon demand, with the exception of carrots, which are in over-supply and difficult to sell. The egg market is keeping steady, and any,good lines offering sue readily disposed of. Dairy pat butter is offering more freely at Is 2d per lb Hams and bacon are in good supply, and the sale of honey has now lallen away. Some first-class samples are offering at ojd.per lb. The following prices were realised during the week : Fowl wheat, to 6s bushel. Oats, 3s 2d bushel. . Chaff, £4 15s to £5 ss. Potatoes, £5 10s to £6.
