BREACH OF PROMISE CASE
AN UNREASONABLE GIRL. A girl in England who wrote to her fiance a few days before 1 her wedding day that she would refuse to marry him if he did not cease to be friendly with his relatives lost a breach of promise case, at the Brighton County Court. . She was Miss Florence Haarnacb, who assists her mother in a confectionery business, and her action was against Francis Edward Page, an A.B. in the Royal Navy, for £IOO. including £35 special damages, the cost, of preparations for the wedding. .It was stated that Miss Haarnacb took objection to Pago’s relations, and accepted hint only 911 the condition that he broke off all connection with them. Page said nothing, and everything progressed smoothly until a few days before the wedding, when Miss Haarnacb wrote to him that she would refuse to marry him if he, did not cense to be friendly with his relatives. Tho judge ruled that there was no case for a jury, and found for Page, with costs.
