The quick advance of a comparatively new kind of electrical appliance is shown in the many new electric refrigerator models, from boxes built for small apartments to elaborate cabinets suitable for mansions, exhibited at the second annual electric refrigeration show, conducted in New York in April. Thirteen manufacturers exhibited more than fifty units and cabinets demonstrating operating and control apparatus and all other features of electric refrigeration. Two office filing cabinets containing compressor and cooling unit were exhibited as suitable for use by physicians to keep medicine at proper temperature. One company announced that its units are being used to keep the powder in powder magazines on battleships from too high temperature.
