THE PROBLEM OF WASTE CONFERENCE AT SYDNEY. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, July 20. A conference of Federal and State officials, educational authorities, and business men, convened by Air Bruce, discussed the elimination of waste in industry, and appointed a provisional committee to examine the possibility of establishing an association on the lines of the Engineering Standards Association. The Commonwealth Government’s action originated in a conference held in February last under tho auspices of the Engineering Association, which had adopted resolutions emphasising the need of the immediate adoption of economies in production and business methods, and suggesting that an organisation to deal with the matter should Ire established in Australia. Tho proposed association would probably receive a grant from the Federal Government.
