M'Donald has now taken 100 wickets for the season. Yorkshire: First innings, 490 for nine wickets, declared (Holmes 53, Oldroyd 88, Leyland not out 204). Middlesex: First innings, 302 (Lee 52, Hendren 127); Kilner took five wickets for 80. Second innings, 218 for two wickets (Haig 80, Loe 55, Hendren not out 62). Yorkshire won on the first innings. Somerset: First innings, 205. Freeman took five wickets for 73. Second innings, 79. Kent; First innings, 218 for eight wickets, declared (Ashdown 82, Ames 52). Second innings, 67 for one wicket. Kent won by nine wickets. For Essex against Derby, Nicholls took eight wickets for 46. For Derby Leo took five for 43. Essex won. . For Hampshire against Northants, Mead made 100 not out and 116 not out. Kennedy took five wickets for 52. For Northants Jupp took six for 71. Mead has completed 100 centuries in first-class cricket. Hampshire won. For Warwick against Worcester, Partridge took five wickets for 60, and for Worcester Root took six ior 62. Warwick won. For Sussex against Gloucester Cook made 166.
