A LINK WITH NELSON
By the death on May 20 at an advanced age of Mrs Catherine- Nelson Parker Toriana Ward, of Dutton, South Brent, Devon, an interesting link with the past has been broken. Her father, Captain Edward Blanekley, R.N., was a descendant of Sir Walter Raleigh, through the daughter of his son, Carow Raleigh. Tier mother was a daughter of Catherine Ala toll am, the youngest of Nelson’s sisters. She herself married the late Colonel William George V.’ard, Indian Army, who was a son of the Rev. Philip Ward and his wife, who was Nelson’s daughter, Horatia. Airs Ward had six daughters, of whom five survive her.
