ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS
FOUND BY RAILWAY LINE. The body of Robert Robertson, aged fifty-six, was found near the railway line, a mile and a-half from Waipukurau station, yesterday morning by a friend who had missed him since Saturday afternoon. The only mark was a slight abrasion on the forehead, and it ia not clear whether he was struck by a train or whether he died from a fall. Tile deceased left the hospital a week ago, and for several days he had been staying at a . railway house near Hatuma. His wife resides in Masterton. An inquest will be held. CRUSHED UNDER MOTOR LORRY. John M'Kenzio, a single man. aged forty-four, with, no relatives in the dominion, was killed yesterday afternoon through being crushed under a motor lorry which fell down a bank on the Hinakura Hill, south of Martinborough. The deceased was a county employee, and in company with a workmate was being given a ride on a motor truck '■driven by a youth named Lefort. While negotiating the hill the back wheel struck the edge of a culvert, and tho machine headed over the side of the road, falling about 20ft. The driver and the other passengers were thrown clear, but the deceased was crushed beneath one of the wheels.—Masterton message.
