STRONG FEELING IN CAICUTTA Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. CALCUTTA, June 14. An ugly outbreak was narrowly averted in'the city owing to Hindu resentment against the Moslems._ Elaborate precautions were taken in connection with tho Bakrid festival. The Moslems were determined to sacrifice cows in a mosque situated in the heart of tho Hindu locality.
Armored cars and largo numbers of police were rushed to tho scene, and, after some hours, the mobs were dispersed. There were only minor casualties.—Sydney ‘ Sun ’ Cable.
