CUSTODY OF GIRL
AH UNUSUAL CASE JTer United Press Association.J AUCKLAND, April 14. In the Supreme Court Margaret Kemp sought an order for the custody of her eleven-year-old child, the application being opposed by her husband, Thomas Patrick Kemp, who although living in the same house as the rest of the family, objected on the grounds that the girl was in better hands as a boarder at the Holy Cross Convent. Counsel for the applicant said that religion was not in dispute. Mr Justice Stringer suggested that the child should live at home and continue to attend the convent for her education. After an adjournment the father agreed to this course, it being agreed that the inspector for the Society for the Protection of Women and Children visit the child’s home to ascertain if she was receiving essential attention-
