“The establishment of an agricultural college at Palmerston North would be the worst blow at agricultural education that has been attempted since agriculture has been in the dominion,” said Mr D. Jones, M.P., in urging the c’aims of Lincoln College for recognition as ar. integral part of a New Zealand agricultural college before tho Prime Minister and the Hon. 0. Hawken this morning. ? The Prime Minister suggested that tho Board of Governors should appoint three representatives to meet Dr Marsden, Director of the Department of Industrial and Green Life Research, and Dr Peakes, Director of Agriculture, and inquire into the question of the expense involved if Lincoln College were given equal status with tho North Island college, and the duplication of the staff that would he required.
