SUPERSTITIONS
New clothes should always be worn at Easter, and an old couplet reads: — At Easter let your clothes be new, Or else bo sure you will it rue. This also applies to, Whitsun, hut it is not quite so essential. If, while dressing, a button or hook is put in the wrong hole or on the wrong eye it foretells some misfortune during the day. - About rings: If a ring given as a token of affection is lost or breaks on the finger ill-luck is on the ivay to the wearer. Even the everyday pin has its own little superstition. If a pin seen on the ground is hot picked up ill-luck will follow. If it, is picked up good luck will come.
