GAOL IN THE MEANTIME

AUCKLAND. March 23. Nicola Katrina, aged thirty, was charged at the Police with having stowed away on the Niagara on February 15. The Italian Consul stated that he raw accused three months ago, when he said his name was Nicola Colonbn. He was not an Italian subject, but a Jugo-Slav. He was an undesirable immigrant. Accused said he left Auckland with a passport, but it was stolen from him. Accused was sentenced _ to one month’s imprisonment, pending authority from Wellington for his deportation.
