BOWLING
CLOSING DAY AT MORNINGTON. There was a large gathering of members and their friends at the Mornington green on Saturday, the weather being ideal for the final game. The President (Mr G. L. Scott) welcomed those present in a very hearty manner, thanking them for attending in order to make the day a successful one. He drew attention to the club’s position in the banner competition, and hoped that it would be higher up the list nest year. He said the green would require a little extra attention this year, and the committee decided to close as early as possible. He felt sure the members would get the benefit next season. The speaker thanked the committee and all those ladies who had helped to make his term of office successful. Mr Rae, on behalf of the members and visitors, thanked Mr and Mrs Scott tor the very pleasant afternoon they had enjoyed, and called _ for three cheers, which were readily given. The dance held in the evening was attended by about thirty couples. Mr W. II ao supplied the music.
