MAHENO HELD UP
DISPUTE OVER COOK [Pbb Chived Pkkss Association.] WELLINGTON, January 11. The intercolonial steamer Maheno, which was to have left for Melbourne via southern ports to-day, has been delayed. owing to a dispute between the stewards and firemen. The latter refuse to sail if the cook is retained, who, they allege, is incompetent. It is expected that the vessel will leave at noon to-morrow.
