PALMERSTON NORTH CHAMPIONSHIPS The Palmerston North tournament was continued yesterday. In the championship play in the morning Lampe, Robson, and Barkman all won in the second round of the singles, Malfroy beat T. Clark (Auckland) in the fourth round, 6-1, 6-2. LADIES’ SINGLES. —Third Round.— Miss Lowry beat Miss Myers, 5-6, 6-3, 6-3. —Fourth Round.— Miss D. Haggitt (Palmerston North) beat Miss Snow Clark (Napier), 4-6, 6-5, 6-3. Miss Spiers beat Miss Fannin, 6-5, 64 ' MEN’S DOUBLES. —Third Round.—Wheeler and Griffiths beat Paul and Melody. 6-1, 6-4. N. Wilson and Dr Park beat J. Hay and Entwhistle, 6-2, 6-1. MIXED DOUBLES. —Third Round.— France and Mrs Melody beat Powdrell and Miss Powdrell, 6-2, 6-1. N. Wilson and Miss Calver beat Dr Park and Miss Lowry, 6-2, 6-4. Wheeler and Miss Myers beat H. Johnston and Miss 0. Haggitt, 6-2, 6-2. Robson and Miss D. Haggitt beat Hay and Mrs Hetley, 6-1, 6-4. Andrews and Miss Spiers beat Atmore and Miss Wallace, 6-1, 6-3. There was a large crowd present in the afternoon to witness the games with the Australians, which resulted MEN’S DOUBLES. Fitzgerald and Brewster beat Andrew and Sandral, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2. F. and N. Peach lost to Malfroy and Haege, 6-4, 4-6, 6-2. North and M'Causland beat Robson and Clark, 6-4, 6-3. MEN’S SINGLES. N. Peach beat Haege, 5-7, 6-3.
