BANDS’ QUEEN CARNIVAL

Mr F. A. Sims, organiser, reports everything well in hand for the opening to-iught. The object of the carnival is to assist in helping Dunedin bands to compete at the Wellington contest, to be held in February next. To compete at contests is the life of a band, and as the local bands have always held a high position in contesting work it is felt that they should compete at the above contest. Colonel H. E. Barrowclough will formally declare the carnival open at 8 o’clock, after which the First Battalion Band will render a hort programme.
