‘HIS TEMPORARY WIFE '

HIS MAJESTY’S. TO-NIGHT ‘His Temporary Wife’ commences her tempestous voyage at His Majesty s Theatre to-night, and will continue tomorrow (Saturday) evening. The play ia one designed for purposes only, and right well it is said to fulfill" its mission. The box plan at The Bristol bears evidence of a highly successful season, and, judging by the cast of characters, the artistic side should leave nothing to be desired. Miss Bessie Thomson will be seen for the first time since her return from London on the local stage, and will enact the principal role of Jane, around whom most. of the fun centres. Mr Arthur R. Gardner appears as William, the butler, a part that is ripe with humorous dialogue, and which Mr Gardner has exploited to the full on divers occasions. Major Lampen, as Charlie Shackleton, the man about town, should fit the part, as he is said to bo Shackleton to the manner born. Other names in an excellent cast include Winnie Beck (who plays Lucy E. Norton, Shackleton’s fiancee), Elsie M'Peak (a character part, Mrs Piston). H. W. Hunter (as Mr Kershaw), H. C. MacLaren, and Master Lester Holier as the boy. Special period furniture will be used in the settings, and a special orchestra, under the direction of Mrs Walter Haggitt, will lend the required atmosphere to this delightful little comedy.
