The City of Canton will sail on Wednesday for Portland (Victoria) to complete discharge of her New York cargo. Due to-morrow morning from Auckland via ports, the Kurow should sail on Saturday for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland. The Holmdale sailed late last night for Oamaru, Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland. The Oreti left Dunedin at 10.45 p.m. on Tuesday for Invercargill and Port Craig. The Kahika was to leave Wellington to-day for Dunedin direct. She is due on Saturday morning to load out for Napier and Gisborne. The Waipahi is listed to leave Auckland to-morrow for Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Bluff. The Otaki is due about November 28 to complete discharge of her Liverpool cargo. The Port Bowen is due here about ’-.unary 10 to finish discharging her ' H erpool cargo. Afterwards she will load Homewards at New Zealand ports. Cable advice received by the Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company states that the Kia Ora, en route from Wellington to London, arrived at the Falkland Islands on November 12. The vessel left Wellington on October 24. Captain Duncan Cameron, the wellknown coastal skipper, left Port Chalmers yesterday in charge of the Monowai. Captain Carson, harbormaster at Gisborne, was at Port Chalmers yesterday in connection with the departure of the “ tow,” and he accompanied the ship to the Heads. The Clan M'Neil, after being cleaned and painted, and having some minor repairs effected, came out of dry dock at Port Chalmers tin's morning,. ans sailed for Westport, where _ she bunkers before going to Port Pirie to load. THE FERRY SERVICE. Tbe Wabine, from Wellington, arrived at Lyttelton at 6,40 a.in. to-day, and passengers and mails connected with the 8.50 express. PERSONAL. The Maunganui was recommissioned under the command of Captain P. Molyneux, who has with him the following officers:—Chief,’Mr C. Sharpe; second, Mr J. W. Thomson; third, Mr A. J. Captain W. Martin, has been appointed master of the Mabeno vice Captain Molyneux, and has the following officers with him:—Chief, Mr A P. Inman: second, Mr S, C. Angus: third, Dir R. Allan; fourth, Mr V. Millar. Captain J. Rankine is now in command of the Tamahine vice Captain A. H. Prosser, who has relieved Captain H. Dryden of the Tofua. Captain A. S. Dalgleish, of the Kaiapoi, has been granted holiday leave. Mr N. Bretner has joined the Otokia as second officer, Mr T. E. Bevau has been appointed chief officer of the Opihi. RUAHINE’S SCHEDULE. The New Zealand Company’s Ruahine was to leave Bluff at noon today for Port Chalmers to load butter, cheese, etc. for London. Due early to-morrow morning, she should sail tomorrow evening for Timaru. Lyttelton, Napier, and Wellington to fill,up. Her departure for London via Panama and Curacao is fixed for December 3.. THE MABENO. The Union Company advises that the Mabeno, which is due at Melbourne today from Wellington, is scheduled to leave the Victorian port on November 24, for Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. She is due here on December 2, and will sail on December 3 for Bluff and Melbourne. TEKOA DUE EARLIER. The Tekoa. which left Liverpool on October 24 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Bluff, under charter to the Federal Company, and left Panama on November 10, is now expected at Auckland on November 30 and here about December 14. ATHENIC FROM HOME.

The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company’s liner Athenic; from London and Southampton, for Wellington, Port Chalmers, Lyttelton, and Napier, is duo at Wellington on December 20, and, as she has only passengers for that port, will sail on the same date lor Port Chalmers, Lyttelton, and Napier to discharge her cargo. THE TONGARIRO’S ARRIVAL. The New Zealand Shipping Company reports that the Tongariro, which left London on October 22 for Suva, Auckland, Port Chalmers, and Timaru, and left Panama on November 8, is now due at Auckland on November 30, and here about December 7. THALATTA FROM AFRICA. W. E. Reynolds and Co. advise that the Norwegian, motor ship Thalatta is due on Saturday morning from South Africa via Australian ports. She left Sydney on Monday afternoon. At Dunedin the Thalatta will commence discharge, landing 300 tons of wattle bark, and a small quantity of other merchandise, including wine. Hence the ship goes to Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland to put out the balance of her cargo. She left Sundsvaal on. July 24, and called at Melbourne before visiting Sydney. THE WAITEMATA’S MOVEMENTS. The Union Company’s Waitemata was due sometime this afternoon from Pacific Coast ports via Napier and Lyttelton. She left San Francisco on October 12, and reached Napier on November 5. Hence the Waitemata proceeds early next week for Nelson, New Plymouth, and Wellington to finish unloading her Canadian and American freight. Later she will return to the Pacific Coast to load again for New Zealand. C. A. LARSEN SAILED. The big whaling steamer,_ 0. A. Larsen, left Port Chalmers this afternoon for the whaling base at Stewart Island, accompanied by her five whalechasers. She leaves Stewart Island on Monday for Ross Sea, where, a few days ago, the Sir James Clark Ross was being hampered by ice in getting to the whaling area. VESSELS IN WIRELESS CALL.
