FIRST BATTALION SAND

To-morrow evening, commencing at S o’clock, Dunedin’s military band will give an open-air concert in tlie Botanical Gardens. A first-class programme, which includes such well-known numbers as Ken. J. Alford’s selection ‘ Musical Switch,’ the valse ‘ Weaner Madlyn,’ and the overture ‘Zampa,’ has been arranged. The ‘ Musical Switch ’ is the same as played by the 93rd Highlanders, and is sure to recall many most pleasant recollections of that band. The usual collection at the gates will he taken, and in addition, many lady supporters of the First Battalion Band will be in attendance selling tickets on behalf of Miss Gladys Crossan, its queen in the monster bands’ queen carnival. The band will he under the baton of its enthusiastic conductor, Mr Llcw. 0. Aston, and, given a fine night, a musical treat will bo provided.
