A NEW RECRUIT
— MRS PAHKHURST DECISION TO JOIN CONSERVATIVES. Press Association—By Telegraph-—Copyright LONDON, November 15, (Received November 16, at noon.) Mrs Pankhurst has joined the Conservatives. She announced her decision at a luncheon of the Workers’ Committee of the Ladies’ Carlton Club, where Mrs Baldwin was the guest of honor. She said that careful consideration had convinced her that what little influence she possessed, chiefly among women, must be thrown _ on tho side of the Conservatives, even if through long tradition there wore some things to which she could not fully adhere. She believed that there were only two parties in the country—Constitutional and Revolutionary. If she could get 8,000,000 women’s votes the situation might be eaved. Revolutionary violence threatened England. It was proved by tho alarming results of the recent municipal elections.
