POSITION IN ENGLAND A NEW ZEALANDER’S INVESTIGATION. Press Association— By Telegraph—Copyright l SYDNEY, November 16. (Received November 16, at 10.10 a.m.) Mr F. W. Platts, a New Zealand stipendiary magistrate, arrived at Sydney by the steamer Ville de Verdun from Europe. Mr Platts investigated the possibility of dominion subjects entering the diplomatic service and other professions in view of the changed status of the dominions. He found the professions in Britain overcrowded, and the sons of professional men now were often looking to the dominions for a livelihood.
