SCHOOLS OPENED. TEHERAN, November 4. Russia’s penetration of Persia took another step forward to-day. Jt was announced that, after lengthy negotiations, the Persian Government had permitted the Soviet to open schools in all the big Persian towns without reservations. Under the vigorous-direction of the new Shah, Riza Pahlovi, Persia rapidly is becoming Westernised. Because the country possesses large oilfields, and on account of its strategical position, Persia is the plaything of British and Russian diplomats, who aro continually striving to circumvent each other.
