HALLOWE’EN
The Dunedin Burns Club will hold its Hallowe’en revels in His Majesty’s Theatre on Thursday next,- at 8 o’clock. The quaint customs and games arc to he revived, and the Scottish songs and stories should delight everybody. Aunty Janet and Uncle John, in the parsons of Mrs D. Party and Mr W. B. M'Ewan, have invited all their friends to spend the evening with them; and M’Conachie (Mr Bert Rawlinson) with his young wife and the village lads ami lassies will all be there. There will lie high times, for Hallowe’en comes but onco a year, and when it comes it brings good cheer. The hoys will try their skill at “dockin’ for tipples," and tho lassies perhaps get an inkling as to the name of their future husband. The piper also arrives, and the skirl of the pipes sets the guests’ feet going, and the old-time dances are enjoyed by all present. Altogether a delightful evening is promised, and Scotsmen far and near should on no account miss this grand entertainment. The best available artists have been engaged, and as a packed house is assured patrons arc particularly requested to hook early. P.lan opens at Begg’s on Tuesday.
