LINKING UP.
The work of laying the land cable between the new repeating station at Sendun and the mouth of the Blind River, a distance of five • miles, for the purposes of the system of telephone communication between the North and South Islands, was completed yesterday, ihe section cl the cattle, which has yet to bo tested and jointed, "’ill be brought into use when the repeating apparatus is installed at Seddon. The repeating apparatuses have the effect of amplifying the volume of sound over the circuit.—Blenheim P.A. telegram.
