INTERNATIONAL VAUDEVILLE
Tho popularity of the New Zealand Entertainers, Ltd., Vaudeville Company shows no sign of waning, and His Majesty’s Theatre again housed a large audience last night. The finalists in the “Miss Otago” beauty competition again took part in their stage parade, tho audience voicing it.* approval in no uncertain terms. “ Miss Canterbury ” was also well received. It is difficult to single out performers for special mention on a programme of which every item may be regarded as a star turn, hut tho dexterity of _ the debonair Salerno (the juggler) quickly captured tho attention of the audience, and hold it throughout the course of his many difficult acts. The hounding bouncers, tho Monroes, proved themselves first-class comedians, as well as remarkable acrobats, and Brian Lawrence, the delightful boy singer, so won the audience’s approval that ho had to oblige with a recall number. Miss Phyllis du Barry rendered her song and dance number very effectively, the songdance the ‘ Charleston ’ being particularly well-reecived. Miss Hilda Nelson’s fine soprano voice was again heard to advantage, and Ben Osborne and Will Perryer did two amusing cockney sketches. A ’matinee will bo given to-morrow afternoon.
