GIPSY SMITH MISION

There was a large attendance at Knox Church last night, when the executive of the Gipsy Smith Mission ract_ to arrange final details for the mission, which will be opened next Sunday. Ministers of the city are invited to take seats upon the platform on Saturday night at the public welcome. Correspondence cleared up the uncertainty with regard to the holding of two meetings next Sunday. It was decided to hold a meetingon Sunday afternoon in the Octagon Hall at 3 o’clock. The tea and meeting for business girls next Wednesday will commence at 6 p.m. After the tea Mrs E. Young will address the gathering. The function will be held in the Y.W.0.A., and will close in time for those present to take part in the big gathering at the Exhibition, Mr J. W. Todd reported on the work of the Young People’s Committee, and stated that 5,000 tickets had been issued for the men’s meeting to be held on October 31, at 3 p.m. The hymn book is now on sale in the city, but will not be on sale on Sunday. Tramway concessions are being granted outside the city area. Those travelling from Caversham, South Dunedin, and the north end of the city will be carried to the Exhibition at a rat© that is equivalent to one section free. Various other details were settled, and the committees were thanked .for their work. Special mention was made of the Hall Arrangements Committee arid the Young People’s Committee.
